Solution
Phaser 840/850 Printers: Resolving exit cover jams

  1. Check for and remove any jammed paper, scraps or hidden paper inside the exit cover area. Also inspect the Rapid Release guide for defects.
  2. Check for a damaged Pivoting Exit Guide Assembly under the Exit Cover.
  3. By hand, feed a sheet of cardstock (paper) into the preheater to remove any obstructions or paper scraps .
  4. Check that the paper (media) in the tray is supported. For information on the supported paper weights, sizes, types and print areas see the following links:

  5. Verify the tray back stop is not loose or missing from all removeable paper/media trays. See the following link for information on: Inspecting the paper tray for broken parts.
